Cinnamon Apple Oatmeal
Cinnamon Apple Oatmeal: Raise your hand if you love apple pie? Cue Dana with both hands up. Not only are cinnamon and apples a perfect marriage, but they are immensely healthy for your immune system. Read further to get the scoop on why you should incorporate this into your breakfast rotation.
Equipment
- Medium saucepan
- Spoon (silicon if possible)
Ingredients
- 1 cup Rolled Oats
- 2 cups Water/Plant-based Milk
- 1 Apple diced small; reserve 1/2 for topping
- ½ tsp Cinnamon
- Dash of Nutmeg
- 1 tbsp Coconut sugar/maple syrup/Stevia
- 2 tbsp Flaxseeds/Chia/Hemp seeds ground
- 6 Walnuts/pepitas/pecans
Instructions
- Combine: In a medium saucepan, combine oats, water/plant-based milk, cinnamon, nutmeg, and half of the diced apple. Boil over medium heat, then stir. Lower the heat and simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. The oatmeal will be soft, thick, and creamy.
- Remove: Remove from heat, add the sugar and flaxseeds. Stir until well combined. Enjoy!
Notes
*Optional: Top it off with walnuts or preferred toppings. If and when we have early dinners, this is a great meal to have. But, refrain from having this delicious meal after 4:00 pm EDT. Why?
